Layton Basement Explosion Caused by Acetone, Officials Say

On Saturday, April 8th, a basement explosion in Layton, Utah severely injured two residents. After an investigation, the Layton City Fire Department determined that the cause of the explosion was acetone and electronic ignition. The house was lifted off its foundation and the neighboring house was damaged by the partial collapse. The two residents are still receiving treatment at the U of U Burn Center and are in severe to critical condition.
