Never mind that he died 11 years ago. New music from Ronnie James Dio could be on the way.
That’s the word from his widow, Wendy Dio, who says she’s been digging through her late husband’s archives of unfinished and unreleased songs to put together a new Dio album.
“I’m in the vault right now with Ronnie’s engineer, Wyn Davis, looking at stuff and seeing if there’s any unreleased material that will be good enough to put out,” Wendy says.
The previously unheard material would likely be released in support of a documentary that chronicles the late singer’s career, which Wendy says will drop sometime in 2022.
Meanwhile, Wendy – who served as Dio’s manager – is sending his band out on tour to “preserve Ronnie’s life and historic music career,” she says.
Is there usually a reason an artist’s unreleased material was never released?
