Many a band has broken up because the lead singer or another band member decided to go solo.
But not U2.
Bassist Adam Clayton says he and his bandmates are very supportive of any solo or side projects.
Appearing on the Rockenteours podcast, Clayton said “If bono wanted to go off and do a solo record, I would encourage him and certainly everyone else would.”
U2 formed when they were still teenagers growing up in Dublin in the late 70’s – and have never had a lineup change in nearly 45 years.
